Wood-Smith identifies its work through two paired marks. The house stripe — a single, proprietary band at the cuff. And the registry number — a monochrome certificate held inside the garment. Together they signal exceptional make, timeless design, and objects intended to remain.
The hallmark is a mark of distinction — for those who value quality across all things and pursue the best human-made objects without compromise. The best objects are not argued into value. They are made, kept, and recognized.
Set inside the placket, the lining, or the back of an object. A small certificate-form capsule carrying the monogram and the run. When color is not the right signal, the number carries the house.

Every issue begins with a bolt and a spec sheet. Heavyweight black brushed-back fleece at 16 ounces. Long-staple bone cotton at 9 ounces. Vegetable-tanned shoulder leather, edge-painted by hand. We publish the specification so the garment can be read before it is worn.

A Wood-Smith piece is not a season’s purchase. It is an object placed in your care — to be worn, repaired, kept, and at some point passed on. The dye is meant to move. The leather is meant to darken. The cuff is meant to soften. The object should improve with use, not disappear after it.

When a Wood-Smith object returns to the workshop, it is not corrected back into newness. The seam is restitched, the edge re-burnished, the cuff re-bound — and the work is signed where the work was done. A repaired piece carries more history, not less. The marks are returned to service, marked with honor.
